IGCSE and A-level examination entries and
fees
SRIS will discuss
with parents at the appropriate stage of a student's
career her/his examination needs. Recommendations
for entry for external examinations will be made
at the end of the Christmas Term, preceding the
year of the examination entry e.g. December 2003
for June 2004 etc. This is necessary since overseas
entries generally have to be made with the examination
boards in January and any late entries are severely
penalised.
The school will recommend and support entries
which it feels are viable for each individual
student but parents have the right to insist and
make entries for their daughters or sons as they
feel fit in relation to the subjects being studied.
In such instances, the school reserves the right
not to count against its final examination statistics
these entries which it considers to be and will
therefore designate as 'private' .
The school will always make the entries on behalf
of the students. For all students registering
from July 2004, the school fees include all examination
fees.
The main examination boards for the school will
be EdExcel
(formerly The University of London Schools Examination
Board) and C.I.E.
(Cambridge International Examinations).
