Mathematics & Sciences
David Frame: B.Sc. P.G.C.E. Head of Secondary and Secondary Science teacher, specialist Chemistry. David graduated from Exeter University with an honours degree in Chemistry and gained his teaching qualification at the University of London. After initial work for three years in Barstable School, Basildon, David went to work at The Edron International School, Mexico. He is a keen all round sportsman and is a qualified National Cricket Association Coach.
Ian Lindley: B.Sc., Cert Ed: IB and KS5 Coordinator and Physics Teacher. A graduate of Leeds University where he also completed his Cert Ed., Ian was previously Head of Physics and Joint Head of Science at Horsforth School, Leeds. As a scientist, he has strong leanings towards the arts and has directed many musical productions for his schools. His recent success was the organisation of the whole school production of ¡°Oliver!¡± which included over 300 students from years 4 to 13. Apart from these pursuits he also enjoys guitar playing, travel and fell walking.

Caroline Troughton: B.Sc. M.Sc., P.G.C.E.: CAS Coordinator, Head of Biology, Science Teacher. Caroline graduated from Portsmouth University with a degree in Molecular Biology before going onto do a Masters degree in Forensic Science at the University of Strathclyde. She successfully completed a Graduate Teacher Programme at Canterbury Christchurch University College in the UK and taught for three years at Castle Community College in Kent before heading out to Shanghai a year ago. Caroline has been appointed as Head of Biology and recently become the CAS Coordinator for the IB programme. Caroline¡¯s interests include Pilates, swimming, skiing and travelling. She is currently learning Mandarin and is involved in the running of the International Award.
Peter Chong: B.Sc., P.G.C.E. Head of Mathematics and Mathematics Teacher. Peter is a Mathematics graduate of the University of London. He taught at The Grey Coat Hospital School for four years before moving to Shanghai. He has been involved with the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and has been on many camping expeditions. Peter enjoys playing the guitar, learning languages and keeping fit by going to the gym.
Richard Cooper: B.Sc., P.G.C.E. Mathematics Teacher. A graduate of Leeds University, Richard gained his P.G.C.E. from Exeter University. Richard is now entering his fifth year at Rego and his eleventh in total in Shanghai. In this time he has managed to gain a passable fluency in Mandarin and has worked hard on expanding his family, which will soon include a daughter to go with his two sons. When Richard is not changing nappies he enjoys travel, reading non-fiction and supporting Port Vale F.C.

John Watkins: B.A., B.Ed.: Mathematics Teacher. John has had considerable teaching experience in Mathematics in schools in Liverpool including Quarry Bank where John Lennon of Beatles fame was a student ! Formerly Head of Mathematics, Examinations Officer, Cover and Data Manager at St John Bosco High School. A keen player, coach and organsier of cricket, John also has been studying Mandarin and learning Tai Chi.
Celine Crommelinck: M.A. Dip Ed.: Mathematics Teacher. Celine is a graduate of Gent University in Belgium and has taught in schools and colleges in Belgium since qualifying. She has travelled and also worked abroad quite extensively and is now based in Shanghai. Her interests are in music : she plays the piano and enjoys choral singing.
Information Technology and Design and Technology
John Erwin: B.Sc (IT), B.Sc (Technology Education). Head of IT and teacher of Information and Communication Technology. A Graduate of The University of Sunderland, John joins us from Beths Grammar School, Bexley, Kent where he has been teaching in the U.K. Previously, John has had experience working abroad in Syrian and Kuwait. He has a variety of interests.
The Arts
John Barrie Wade: B.A., P.G.C.E. Director of Music and Music Teacher. Educated at Leicester ad Birmingham Universites. Successful career over a period of eleven years in the U.K. starting in London, then Eastbourne and lastly in Cornwall. An active performer who enthusiastically embraces all the arts.
Christina Haaf: B.A., M.A., P.G.C.E.: Secondary Music Teacher. Christina is from Germany. She studied performance at the University Mozarteum in Salzburg, Austria. Her main instrument is the harp. In addition she studied the piano as part of her degree. Her musical career spans a number of orchestras and international solo performances. Christina has lived and taught in the UK for three years. Her musical and teaching engagements have brought her into several countries, including Lebanon, Mexico, Brazil, Switzerland and France.
Carl Binstead: B.A., P.G.C.E. Head of Art and teacher of Design and Technology. Carl is a Three Dimensional design graduate of Manchester Metropolitan University. He has worked as a freelance artist and sculptor for a number of years before qualifying as a teacher at St Martin's College, Lancaster. He has taught in schools in the North West of England before joining Rego in 2006. He has a wide variety of interests which extend to sculpture, painting and baking (food technology !) since his family's business was in baking and confectionery.

Gillian Hunter: B.A., P.G.C.E.: Secondary Art Teacher. Gillian is a graduate of Sunderland University and completed her PGCE at University College St Martins, Lancaster. She has taught at schools in Lancaster and Burnley and is very keen on mixed media work in Art. She has completed The Duke of Edinburgh¡¯s Awards up to and including gold level and enjoys sport and travel.
Languages
Adam Flower: B.A., P.G.C.E. Cert TESOL. Head of Modern languages and teacher of French and German. A graduate of The University of the West of England, Adam gained his P.G.C.E. at Leeds University. He subsequently worked for three years at Roundhay High School in Leeds and whilst there organised a number of residential trips. His interests are mainly travelling and sport and as a Bristol Rovers supporter he is always willing to champion the underdog!
Catherine Clerc: Ph.D., M.A. Examinations Officer and Head of French and French teacher. Catherine is a French national who after graduating in English in Dijon in France studied at Leeds for her M.A. and gained her doctorate at Keele University. Catherine opted for a secondary school teaching career and taught in Darlington and Northampton before coming to Shanghai in 2004. She enjoys being with her son and running.
Chris Pye: B.A.(hons), P.G.C.E. French and Spanish teacher. A graduate of The University of Liverpool, Chris gained his P.G.C.E. at Liverpool Hope University. He has previously taught at Hilbre High School on the Wirral and has organized foreign language trips to France and Spain. His many interests include playing the drums, reading crime fiction, practising martial arts, climbing, foreign cinema and travel.
Rhoda Yates: B.A., M.B.A., P.G.C.E.: Modern Foreign Languages Teacher (Spanish and French)
and TOK Co-ordinator. After a ten year career in government (in international relations), Rhoda obtained her teaching qualifications in the UK through the University of Gloucester. She has taught in Worcester/Herefordshire & Oxfordshire. More recently, she coached a team of students attending the Student Model UN Assembly in Singapore. Her interests range from music to martial arts.
Angie Roussounis: B.A., P.G.C.E: Secondary English and Religious Studies Teacher. Angie has a degree in Theology and English from The University of Surrey and completed her PGCE through Medway Teacher Training in Kent. She has been teaching at Northfleet School for Girls in Kent where she has responsibilities for teaching her two main subjects. Angie describes herself as a film buff and enjoys yoga, swimming and cycling.
Jason Doorga: M.A., B.A., P.G.C.E.: Secondary English Teacher. Jason¡¯s interests spread beyond the realms of literature to eastern philosophy, the subject in which he gained his Master¡¯s degree from the University of Wales, Lampeter. Jason previously taught in China before returning to the U.K. to complete a teaching degree at the University of West England in Bristol. He has studied Mandarin and is a qualified practitioner of Buqi.
Kylie Schroeder: B Ed (GU) QTS. Secondary English Teacher. Kelly is a graduate of Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia. China marks the third continent in Kylie¡¯s teaching career. Having taught in her native Australia, she sought to further her experience by teaching in the UK for a year ¨C she stayed in the Midlands for six. She is very interested in animal welfare, and is a keen volunteer with Shanghai¡¯s Second Chance Animal Adoption charity. Her other passion is line dancing ¨C too difficult to describe, too addictive to stop.
Lies Verstraete: M.A. T. Cert. Secondary Dutch Teacher. Lies graduated from Ghent University with a degree in Geography and a degree in Conflict and Development. She taught Geography in different Belgian schools before teaching in Shanghai. She enjoys swimming, reading, cycling, travelling and playing saxophone.

Olvido Vea-Murguia: B.A., P.G.C.E.: Secondary Spanish Teacher. Olvido comes from Tenerife, Spain. She graduated from Durham University in the U.K. After working in the field of retailing and as a nursery nurse, she has subsequently held teaching positions in the north of England. She has been teaching in Secondary for the last nine years up to Sixth Form level. She is an examiner for the AQA Exam Board. During her spare time in the U.K., she opened a Spanish Club where she taught students ranging from the ages of four to adults. She enjoys travelling, classical music, sailing, opera and dancing.
Sophie Nicault: BA Caen France, PGCE Cambridge UK, Spanish Examiner for the IBO.
Secondary French Teacher. Sophie is a French national who has been working in International Schools for more than 17 years. She has also worked for three years for the EU Delegation in la Paz Bolivia. Prior to joining Rego, she taught Spanish / French (IGCSE, A level, IB ( YP and DP lang B, A2 ) in Indonesia, Vietnam, Japan, Turkey, Lesotho, The Netherlands and the UK.
She is here with her young daughter Alba and is very excited about launching a mother tongue program at Rego.
Robin Doherty: B.A (hons). LTCL DipTESOL. EAL Teacher
After Graduating from Glasgow Caledonian University I taught English for 2 years at a primary school and a private language academy in South Korea. I then returned to Scotland to complete my LTCL diploma in TESOL. I worked at a language school teaching adults in Glasgow before coming to Shanghai. I enjoy playing and watching most sports, especially football, and I like to travel.

CoCo Shi: B.A. & Candidate for Masters in MTCSOL at ECNU (Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages). Secondary Mandarin teacher. Graduated from Nanjing Normal University with a degree in teaching English language and literature, as well as a Teacher¡¯s qualification certificate in secondary and high schools. Before joining Rego, she taught English and geography at Shanghai Peijia International School Bilingual Department.
Lisa Zhang: B.A., Teaching Certificate Of Education. Primary Mandarin Teacher. A Graduate of Shanghai Normal University. Prior to working at Rego, Lisa has worked in an English training school. At Rego, she has had three years experience working as a primary Mandarin teacher and for the past year has joined the secondary school working as a secondary Mandarin teacher. Lisa¡¯s interests including cooking and gardening.
Elsie Yao: B.A. Secondary Mandarin teacher. Graduated from Hubei University majoring in Chinese Language.
Before joining SRIS, she worked as a Chinese editor at a broadcasting station and as a part time Chinese teacher at Hubei college.
Humanities
Brennan Cameron: B.A.: Business Studies. Brennan graduated from St. Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada with an honours degree in Business Management and gained his teaching degree from the State University of New York. After spending a few years in both the private and public sector Brennan went on to teach Business Studies at St. Matthew¡¯s High School in Ottawa, Canada. Most recently he has taught the IB Business and Management programme at the Shanghai Singapore International School. He is looking forward to working at Rego
Clive Walker: BA. Hons., PGCE, TEFL. Geography Teacher. China is only the most recent in a series of overseas teaching positions- Nigeria (VSO), Uganda, Jamaica, Mexico, Spain, Swaziland, Kenya and Costa Rica. The latter included sixteen years as International Coordinator (IGCSE and IB). His main interests include sports, trekking and photography.
Alan Dilworth: B.A., P.G.C.E. History, Geography and General Studies Teacher. Before entering teaching, Alan spent twenty years in industry as a structural designer during which he worked in many different countries. He graduated from the University of Teesside during a career break. He resumed his studies and gained his P.G.C.E from the University of Leeds and initially taught in the North East of England before teaching in Sharjah and most recently at Cambridge International School, Dubai. His main interests lie in the fields of sport, travel, and playing guitar.

Leanne Campbell: B.Sc., P.G.C.E.: Teacher of Psychology and School Counsellor. A graduate from Manchester University with a first class honours degree in Psychology, Leanne taught Psychology and Sociology at Rainford Sixth Form College in Merseyside before going on to complete her PGCE in Social Science at Keele University, Staffordshire. Leanne was a Psychology teacher for two years at Monkseaton Community High School, Newcastle upon Tyne where she was also involved in teaching the GCSE Integrated Humanities course. She enjoys Pilates, yoga and live music.
Physical Education and Games
Daniel Iddon: B.Sc. Q.T.S. Director of Sport and Physical Education and Games Teacher. Graduate of the University of Sunderland and first worked as a fitness instructor/coordinator for Sebastian Coe Health and Fitness Clubs. After a brief spell with the Lancashire Police Force decided to commit to teaching and gained qualified teacher status as a secondary school P.E. teacher. Taught at a specialist sports college in the north of England before joining the staff of Shanghai Rego International School.
